“Tiger is Strolling Around” is in the official program of the LA Shorts

The short animated film “Tiger is Strolling Around” by Ukrainian director Anastasiia Falileieva has been selected to the official program of the LA Shorts International Film Festival in Los Angeles. It was created by studio KAPI with the financial support of the Ukrainian State Film Agency.

LA Shorts International Film Festival is one of the most prestigious and largest short film festivals in the world. It is accredited by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (Oscar), the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA), and the Canadian Academy of Film and Television Arts. This year the festival celebrates 25 years. The event will take place on July 21.

"At first, my film was selected for the festival in Tokyo, then – in Los Angeles. It's like taking the two most desirable peaks!” Anastasia Falileieva said.

“Tiger is Strolling Around” is dedicated to the problem of depression among adolescents. Through the prism of anxious fantasies, the film tells the story of high school student Katsumi, who is experiencing a depressive disorder and in despair of finding support and love from loved ones.

The film is made in the technique of stop motion. Garbage became an expendable material for creating puppets and decorations.

"Probably, all people from the industry crave finding themselves on Oscar's red carpet someday. Well, let's say we did the first step toward it", producer of the studio KAPI Michael Margulis noticed.

It should be reminded that the world premiere of the “Tiger is Strolling Around” took place on June 12 as part of the official competition program of the International Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia in Tokyo.
